Mark advises the Vellichor Risk on its insurance, risk transfer matters, regulatory compliance and governance in high risk countries.

Mark is a former Colonel in the British Army having graduated from The Royal Military College Sandhurst and Army Staff College. During Mark’s career he served with 22 SAS, where he commanded a Squadron on UK Counter Terrorist Team duties and on operational deployment in many countries. Mark’s military career saw him actively involved at the highest levels of strategic planning in the UK Armed Forces, writing and delivering papers on the Middle East, Pakistan and India; and briefing many foreign governments. His career culminations were as the Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers, the Chief of Staff 1st Mechanised Brigade and Deputy Director of Strategic Plans in the UK Ministry of Defence.

Since leaving the Army in 2004, Mark has worked in the security industry in the Middle East and Africa and is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Gate Insurance, a specialist insurance brokers providing insurance services to a large portfolio of international companies and clients operating in high risk or frontier areas.

David advises the Vellichor Risk on corporate PR Strategy, Marketing, Media Relations and Corporate Ethics for our office in London and branches operating in EMEA.

David began his profession after leaving the New York Institute of Technology with a B.A. Commutations. Over the next thirty plus years David has successfully made a career within the highest levels of both state and federal government where he has developed and managed crisis strategies for the White House, The African Famine Crisis, and advised on US global democracy development.

David is an expert in International Government Affairs, having been instrumental in the successes of the US Global Trade Association. Whilst working on Capitol Hill and with State Lawmakers, David has been able to develop high level skills in governmental budgeting, negotiating and lobbying, which provides him with key access to federal, state and local policy makers, top agency officials, civic leaders and grassroots groups.

Some of David’s key accomplishments have been, as a member of the White House Transition Team, Communications Director for Ambassador Rich Williamson for U.S. Senate, Illinois House of Representatives Press Secretary, and administering federal disaster assistance for Ethiopia and Sudan.
